M Health Fairview now offers a simpler way to pay your balance after a visit. Typically, once your visit has been processed and any applicable insurance has been billed, you will receive a text message with your balance to be paid. With our new, easier way to pay, if you have a payment method on file with us, you will have an option within that text message to respond and pay your bill via text.
No enrollment is required to take advantage of this new option. If you have an active MyChart account, have opted in to texts, and have a payment method on file, you will automatically be able to use text to pay your bill. No payment information will be collected via text, so if you would like to be able to use text to pay in future, please add payment information via your MyChart account.
Yes, it’s secure. No banking or payment details are included in the text, and to pay, you will need to text a confirmation of the guarantor’s last name, preventing any accidental payment.
At this time, you can’t do a partial payment via text. However, you can always do a partial payment or set up a payment plan through MyChart.
Currently, our system may process bills separately. If you pay the amount noted in the text, it only covers that single bill. If you had more than one active bill, you may receive another text with a different amount. You can still pay that via text, or you can go online.
