When you walk into M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital, you’re greeted not by the usual sterile white and overhead announcements of a hospital, but by the warmth of a fireplace, the gentle sound of piano music, and views of bird-filled trees just outside the window. For 25 years, this has been the Woodwinds way: healing that feels as natural as a walk in the woods.

Twenty-five years ago, hospital planners borrowed inspiration from the natural environment of the Woodbury area, designing a healthcare space that felt like visiting a cabin rather than a clinic.

And still today, the concept that nature heals can be seen and felt throughout Woodwinds. Waiting areas feature fireplaces, expansive windows and the soothing melodies of live piano music. Outside, a healing garden offers a space for reflection and fresh air. Even procedural waiting areas have access to this outdoorsy feel.

Woodwind’s approach to care was built around patient-centered service. Each patient room is private and infused with light, muted tones and views of nature with space for loved ones to visit comfortably. Rooms also have access to the Care Channel, which offers guided imagery and music.
