Hudson heart clinics expand care for children and adults in western Wisconsin
We continue to expand our heart care services for patients in western Wisconsin. We’re now offering cardiac echocardiography for adults and pediatric patients. Cardiac stress testing is coming soon. In 2023, we opened M Health Fairview Heart Clinic – Hudson clinic to bring the region another choice for cardiology care.
Pediatric heart care is available in the same specialty care space, offering heart care for children and teens. The clinics are located together within the Hudson Medical Center at 2651 Hillcrest Drive.
Heart care for adults
Our adult heart care clinic in Hudson provides outpatient consultation along with diagnostics. The clinic is focused on caring for a variety of heart concerns, such as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and heart rhythm issues, including comprehensive atrial fibrillation management.
The adult clinic team is led by cardiologists Thomas Johnson, MD, Mitchell Timmons, DO, Kim Loria, MD, and Justin Halbe, MD. All four physicians have a long history working with patients in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin through our network of M Health Fairview clinics and hospitals. The clinic is the result of a partnership with local primary and specialty care group Hudson Physicians to help patients needing specialized heart care easily access it within their community.
“Our clinic provides another access point for people in Hudson and the surrounding area to find treatment for heart conditions and get their symptoms evaluated by a specialist,” said Johnson. “Our connection to western Wisconsin is the result of decades of practice in both the Hudson community and beyond. I’ve personally cared for patients from Hudson since 1993. Our team is excited to grow our presence in the area and work with even more people to meet their heart care needs in a way that’s accessible to them.”
Cardiologists are in Hudson three days a week to provide convenient adult heart care to Western Wisconsin. The clinic serves as an access point to our Heart Care specialists and the comprehensive heart center at nearby M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospital, located in Maplewood, Minnesota. St John’s is equipped with five cardiac catheterization laboratories, state-of-the-art technology and patient- and family-centered amenities.
St. John’s is the only hospital between Saint Paul and western Wisconsin to offer tertiary cardiac care – a higher level of specialty care that includes access to complex interventional cardiology procedures, advanced cardiac electrophysiology procedures, and hybrid procedures including cardiothoracic surgery.
Heart care for children and teens
At M Health Fairview Pediatric Specialty Clinic – Hudson, families can access heart care led by cardiologists from the Pediatric Heart Center at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. Cardiology services include on-site echocardiography (echo) and electrocardiogram (EKG) technology to diagnose and monitor a range of heart conditions. An array of heart care services is also available at M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minnesota, where we offer diagnostic testing, CT coronary exams, echocardiogram stress testing, imaging, and heart failure care.
