M Health Fairview doubles heart care access in Maple Grove
As cardiovascular demand continues to rise, M Health Fairview has more than doubled its access to heart care in Maple Grove, expanding its team from four to 10 and introducing new specialty expertise to reduce wait times and better serve the community.
“It feels incredibly rewarding to be able to provide heart care directly to Maple Grove residents and the surrounding communities,” said Danielle Kammermeier, operations director of the cardiology service line with M Health Fairview. “Being in their community allows us to meet patients where they are, eliminating unnecessary travel—especially for older adults, who often face mobility challenges and are more likely to develop cardiac conditions later in life. Providing high‑quality cardiology care close to home means patients can receive timely, specialized support without leaving the comfort and familiarity of their own community.”
In addition to comprehensive cardiology services, including diagnostic testing, interventional cardiology, heart failure management, and cardiac rehabilitation, the expanded team at M Health Fairview Clinics & Surgery Center – Maple Grove now offers:
- Women’s cardiology and cardiovascular prevention – addresses historically underdiagnosed heart disease in women.
- Electrophysiology –diagnosis and treatment of irregular heartbeat.
- Advanced cardiac imaging – a noninvasive method of finding heart issues.
“Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death in Minnesota, second only to cancer,” said Katie Nelson, cardiovascular service line executive with M Health Fairview. “Increasing access to preventive care is a priority for all of us at M Health Fairview. We're committed to ensuring the best heart health possible for Minnesotans.”
Future plans include adding a vascular ultrasound room next summer to support a vein practice.
