M Health Fairview opens Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic in Brooklyn Park
When you’re told you have a high-risk pregnancy, it helps to have experienced, caring maternal-fetal medicine specialists behind you. It’s even better when those experts are close to home.
To help make care more convenient for people in the north metro area and increase access at our other locations, M Health Fairview is opening a new maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) clinic on June 16. The clinic is located in M Health Fairview Clinic – Brooklyn Park, 10000 Zane Ave. North.
“Most of the people we see have high-risk pregnancies for either maternal or fetal conditions,” said Jessica Nyholm, MD, a maternal fetal medicine doctor and the clinic medical director who is also an associate professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School. “We serve patients from the northern metro who previously had to drive a long way to get care. To help improve our access and to serve our patients in that area is very exciting.”
The clinic offers the highest level of care for patients and their babies—from preconception to post-partum. Full-service maternal fetal medicine care includes:
-
Ultrasound
-
Genetic testing and counseling
-
First trimester genetic testing
We also offer specialty services, such as chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis, which help diagnose genetic differences before birth.
Board-certified genetic counselors help parents understand the options for genetic testing and screening. Then they interpret the results and prepare an individualized care plan based on parents’ goals and preferences.
At our academic health center, your care comes from doctors who are not only deeply experienced but also at the cutting edge of medicine. They stay current by reading and contributing to the latest research and by teaching future physicians. That means you benefit from the most up-to-date knowledge, treatments, and innovations available.
