Expert heart care, throughout the Twin Cities metro and beyond: Two of our hospitals earned nationwide cardiac honors through Healthgrades’ 2023 Specialty Excellence Awards, and four of our hospitals were recognized for outstanding care across five cardiac specialties.

M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital was also recognized as the #1 hospital in the Twin Cities metro for both cardiology and coronary intervention and, for the second year in a row, named as one of the top 100 hospitals in the country for both cardiac care and coronary intervention.

Southdale is one of only three centers in Minnesota to earn the Best Cardiac Care designation for 2023, and one of only five hospitals in Minnesota to earn the Best Coronary Intervention designation.

The Best Cardiac Care award is given to hospitals that deliver superior clinical outcomes in heart bypass surgery, coronary interventional procedures, heart attack treatment, heart failure treatment, and heart valve surgery. The Best Coronary Intervention Award is given to hospitals who deliver superior clinical outcomes in coronary intervention procedures (angioplasty with stent).
