More than 130 University of Minnesota Health physicians honored as "Top Doctors" in 2017
Every year, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine asks thousands of doctors across the Twin Cities region a simple question: Which doctor would you choose if you or a loved one needed medical attention?
The top results from that survey are compiled for the magazine’s annual “Top Doctors” issue.
This year, we’re proud to announce that 149 University of Minnesota Physicians doctors representing 41 different medical specialties were selected by peers in their field for inclusion in the magazine’s Top Doctors edition. Of those chosen, 138 are affiliated with University of Minnesota Health.
The 2017 Top Doctors list, released on June 14, recognized a total of 803 doctors in the Twin Cities for their exceptional care. University of Minnesota Health doctors represent roughly 17 percent of that total.
The rankings are determined by a survey sent to 5,000 licensed physicians in the 10-county metro area. Survey participants are asked to nominate one or more doctors, excluding themselves. The candidates who made the final list were evaluated on indicators of peer recognition, professional achievement, and disciplinary history. In addition, a blue-ribbon panel of physicians also reviewed each Top Doctors candidate. The magazine also conducted reputation-based research.
