Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups are voluntary, employee-led affinity groups that connect people with shared experiences and perspectives. The groups focus on strengthening our system and patient experience in four key areas: community connection, organizational impact, meaningful change, and people development. The Asian Heritage Network is dedicated to developing an inclusive environment that considers the many different dimensions of diversity with special focus on culture, ranging from values and preferences to beliefs and communication styles. Our focus is to create and cultivate a supportive environment, not only within our organization, but for our patients and communities as well.

Black Initiative Network (BIN)

The Black Initiative Network was created to provide individualized support and resources to Black and African American members. The group also raises awareness about the current adversities Black and African American employees face in the workplace and world at large. Beyond the workplace, we also aim to build trust in underserved communities by providing relevant resources and information for the populations we serve.

Cross Cultural Leadership Network (CCLN)

The Cross-Cultural Leadership Network seeks to foster a culture of growth and opportunities for people of color to advance their career. Through addressing the complexities of identity and intersectionality, we set our members up for success and support them throughout their journeys. We are also working to update our system’s hiring practices, ensuring we are creating a diverse workforce representative of the people we serve.

Facilitators of Unity & Strengtheners of Inclusivity of Nursing (FUSION)

FUSION exists to dismantle racism, confront inequities and create space for belonging and healing in nursing. We achieve this by intentionally building a coalition of diverse and culturally humble nurses who are equipped to care and advocate for the whole person, family, community, and healthcare system.

Indigenous Healing Circle (IHC)

IHC is committed to recognizing, educating, and working to reconcile disparities and issues unique to Native community members. The ERG wants to create sacred space for current and future Native employees and patients, while establishing a path for scholarship and advancement that gives back to the Native community in a sustainable and meaningful way. IHC also wants to acknowledge, honor, and implement Indigenous wisdom and worldviews in our health system and for employees.

LEAD is comprised of Latine identifying staff and allies who aim to celebrate and honor our heritage while building upon our experiences by sharing knowledge and strengthening community relationships. We strive to create meaningful and lasting change that promotes leadership through collaboration and unity.

Understanding Neurodiversity with Mentoring, Affirmation, Support, & Knowledge (UNMASK)

UNMASK exists to create a neurodivergent-inclusive culture that both enables neurodivergent colleagues to safely “unmask” and enables staff to provide a neurodivergent-informed approach to patient care. Through education and leadership mentoring UNMASK will increase the visibility and awareness of neurodivergence within the organization to create system-wide change.

Veterans Allies and Advocates is dedicated to supporting and serving veteran, military, and advocate employees, patients, and community members through patient care and creating an environment for military and veteran employees to thrive professionally. VAA and Fairview are working toward becoming a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organization, underlining our commitment to veterans and their families.
