Our Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) Comprehensive Clinic is designed with both children and families in mind. We have a commitment to ALD patients and their families to achieve the best outcomes while meeting their unique needs—and to do so as safely and conveniently as possible.

The clinic systematically approaches the care and monitoring of children and adults with ALD with the support of an experienced team of experts. Once a month, our patients meet with specialists from Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT), Endocrinology, Neurology, and our genetic counselor. This care is open to any family interested in our services, including local, national, and international patients.

Newborn Screening

Newborn screening allows prospective monitoring of adrenal function and the onset of cerebral ALD. If your baby has received a positive newborn screening test or a biochemical diagnosis of ALD, we're here to help no matter where you are located. We offer comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, consultations and coordinated monitoring and follow-up care tailored to your baby’s unique needs. The availability of newborn screening is extremely important in the identification of patients at risk and in minimizing the long-term effects of the disease.
