Aortic Stenosis

Schedule Appointment
If you have been diagnosed with aortic stenosis, it means the flaps of your aortic heart valve have thickened or stiffened, narrowing the opening.

Overview

This restricts the flow of blood through the valve to your aorta, which carries blood to the rest of your body. As a result, your heart muscle has to work harder. Aortic stenosis is a common, yet serious, heart valve problem. You might notice chest pain, fatigue, dizziness or shortness of breath. If the condition is not treated, it can cause heart failure, stroke, blood clots or sudden cardiac death.
