Our Lupus and Sjogren’s Clinic, and our Scleroderma Clinic, bring together specialists to develop medical and lifestyle treatment plans for patients with connective tissue diseases.
Connective tissue disease, or mixed connective tissue disease, is an autoimmune disorder affecting mostly women in which the immune system attacks healthy cells by mistake. One person can develop several connective tissue diseases, but the symptoms of each disease occur over several years, making it difficult to arrive at an early, accurate diagnosis.
Preliminary symptoms often include fatigue, low-grade fever, swollen fingers, white and numb fingertips or joint pain. Over time, this condition can affect certain organs, such as the lungs, heart and kidneys. There is no cure.
Our approach
Physicians with M Health Fairview provide you with a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating connective tissue disease. We have the latest, most effective treatments for even the least common forms of this disease, such as spondyloarthropathy syndromes and Lyme arthritis.
Our Lupus and Sjogren’s Clinic, and our Scleroderma Clinic, bring together specialists to develop medical and lifestyle treatment plans for patients with connective tissue diseases. Our rheumatologists also participate in clinical studies to understand what causes uncontrolled inflammation and why the immune system sometimes attacks the body’s own tissues and organs.
