Overview

The ovaries are the female reproductive organs that produce hormones and eggs. Ovarian cancer can involve the epithelial cells, germ cells, or stromal cells. Epithelial ovarian cancer is the most common, but also the most serious.

Our approach

M Health Fairview Cancer Care is one of the largest gynecologic cancer programs in the Midwest. Our nationally recognized team of gynecologic oncologists, radiation oncologists, advanced practice providers, and support staff work as a team to provide patients with leading-edge cancer care, using the latest and most advanced treatment approaches. Our team meets regularly to discuss each patient's treatment, routinely seeking the advice and opinions of our partners within and outside our program.

We’re also designated as a National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health by the Office of Women’s Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Personal support
A diagnosis of gynecologic cancer can impact many areas of a patient’s life. We provide opportunities for patients to gain emotional and personal support as they navigate through cancer treatment. We provide educational seminars hosted by our staff, access to support groups, and peer-to-peer support.
