Parkinson’s disease is a motor system disorder that occurs when your brain cells don’t produce enough dopamine. At first, you may notice a tremor in your hands, arms, legs or face. You also may notice stiffness, a slowness of movement, imbalance and loss of coordination.
The University of Minnesota has been named a Udall Center of Excellence in Parkinson’s Disease Research and was awarded a $9.07 million grant over the next five years to improve the lives of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
