If you have patches of skin that have lost their color, you may have vitiligo.

Overview

Vitiligo can present in one of several patterns including white patches on the face, trunk, and extremities, around the lips and mouth, or in a segmental pattern on one site or side of the body.

Our approach

Vitiligo is not life-threatening but loss of skin color can be associated with psychological stress and sensitivity to the sun. It is considered an autoimmune disease and can present with other autoimmune diseases, such as autoimmune hypothyroidism.
