Advanced Life Support
M Health Fairview EMS provides Advanced Life Support ambulances including specialized critical care service. We have been providing emergency 911 ambulance service in Dakota County for the past 30 years. In 2020 M Health Fairview EMS extended it’s 911 ambulance coverage into our Northern region. In addition to pre-scheduled Advance Life Support calls, All our Paramedics are Nationally Registered and trained with the latest advanced lifesaving equipment.

Basic Life Support (BLS)
M Health Fairview EMS Basic Life Support team is one of the metro’s largest providers. EMS professionals beginning their careers at M Health after EMT school, are supported through 6 additional weeks of rigorous education, training, and field internship before being assigned to an ambulance position. Only after additional internal credentialing, education, training, and internship, our EMT’s are able to better serve our patients with an advanced scope of practice protocols, medications and procedures. Our BLS units are utilized to supplement our 911 deployment coverage to help assure great service to our communities.
Critical Care
M Health Fairview EMS has one of the highest trained critical care paramedic teams in the metro. Our top-tier critical care paramedics attend only accredited critical care education programs, are board certified CCP-C or FP-C and complete a 6-month internship before caring for our most critically ill patients with highly specialized equipment. Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella, ECMO, advanced airway and ventilation, invasive monitoring, and an extensive list of medications are just a few of the procedure these teams can manage.
Education
We rely on our professional dedicated EMS Educators to help support our mission and vision.
They are more than EMS Instructors, they are mentors, teachers, researchers, and leaders. Our Education Team supports the continued development and education needs of our EMS professionals by creating timely and innovative programs that focus on great clinical outcomes and positive customer experiences and safety. Our Education team is sought after to help support the educational needs of several local Police and Fire agencies.
MedKab
Established in the early 1960’s, M Health Fairview’s Medkab division was one of the first wheelchair transportation companies servicing the seven county Metro area. MedKab is a medical transportation service for wheelchair bound patients within our healthcare system that cannot access public transportation systems. Appointments are generally to or from medical facilities by utilizing a fleet of specially equipped vehicles.
Communications Center
Our communication center, a secondary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), is manned by certified Emergency Medical Dispatchers from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. Their expertise ensures efficient handling of emergency calls, prioritizing community safety.
In addition to our capable staff, we employ computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software enhanced with predictive artificial intelligence (AI). This technology aids in time-sensitive decision-making, improving response accuracy. By analyzing data and predicting outcomes, our CAD system enhances operational efficiency and the effective allocation of emergency resources.
We also provide an online transportation request system for non-emergencies, ensuring community access to reliable transportation while safeguarding emergency response resources for critical situations.
Vehicle Services
Service Center
Our vehicle services center is staffed by industry leading technicians and master mechanics. Utilizing modern equipment and computer diagnostics and several decades of industry experience, our service team members assure the safest, most reliable, efficient vehicles. Practicing earth-friendly principles, the service center utilizes daylighting for much of the vehicle storage and workspace, innovative lighting/controls, high-efficiency HVAC/controls, as well as oil and material recycling.
Modern Fleet & Equipment
M Health Fairview EMS deploys industry-leading vehicles and equipment. First in the state to equip our EMS professionals with Zoll X Series Advanced cardiac monitors, deploying state-of-the-art video laryngoscope, and operating redesigned patient care area of our ambulances.
