Screening mammograms:  The M Health Fairview Breast Center - Burnsville offers screening mammograms as a preventative care option to our patients. This simple test is important because it can detect problems early, when they are more treatable. The law requires insurers to cover the cost of screening mammograms for patients age 40 and over on a yearly basis. We offer same-day screening appointments for mammograms. Screening mammograms do not require a referral from your doctor; however, we will inform your primary care physician of your results. To schedule an appointment, call 855-324-7843.

• Fewer "false positive" results, which reduces the need for invasive testing procedures such as biopsies. 

Diagnostic Imaging:  We also offer diagnostic mammograms for men and women who have breast lumps, pain or discharge. A referral from your doctor is required to schedule a diagnostic mammogram, so talk to your doctor right away if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.
