The Birthplace at M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center delivers hundreds of babies every year but we never lose sight that each and every birth is unique.As a family-centered maternity care and childbirth center, we work closely with you and your health care provider to support the choices you make about your child's birth.
The Birthplace offers unique amenities and services to help ensure your experience is exceptional.
- Highly trained and caring staff, focused on the safety of you and your baby. We believe in continuity of care, where you have the same nurses and staff throughout your labor and delivery experience, as well as post-partum recovery. While this is not always possible, we strive for this continuity for our patients.
- Therapeutic labor techniques and support tools, including birthing balls, peanut balls, and squat bars.
- Multiple options for pain relief from essential oils to epidurals performed by our 24-hour in-house anesthesia team.
- Lactation support from highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners who have all completed a minimum of 20 hours of lactation education.
- Private rooms with free Wi-Fi
- Televisions in every room
- Refrigerator in every postpartum room
- Pull-out or fold-down bed for support person.

Having top-notch care close to home is invaluable to our patients. At the M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center Birthplace, you have the familiarity of home as well as the expertise of our full M Health Fairview System.
If your pregnancy is medically complicated, you are expecting multiple babies, or require a closer oversight during and after pregnancy, M Health Fairview has Maternal Fetal Medicine Centers located in Minneapolis, Edina, Maplewood, and Burnsville. Maternal Fetal Medicine providers specialize in high risk, medically complicated pregnancies, and partner with your primary prenatal care provider to create treatment plans to keep you and your baby safe before, during, and after delivery.
If your baby requires additional care after delivery, our 24-hour in-house Nurse Practitioners, specialized in advanced infant care, may consult with the University of Minnesota Neonatology team. If it is determined that your baby needs more advanced care, they may be transported to the nearest appropriate M Health Fairview Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We primarily partner with St. John's Hospital, with the goal of keeping families as close to home as possible. M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital, a Level IV NICU, the highest level of NICU care, is available to us if needed.

The Birthplace at M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center

Fairview Lakes Medical Center is located at 5200 Fairview Boulevard, between I35 and Highway 61 in Wyoming, Minnesota, four miles north of Forest Lake.
Access to the medical center is from Highway 61 via Fairview Boulevard.
From Interstate 35: Take Exit 135 at Wyoming to East Viking Boulevard. Go east on East Viking Boulevard (County Road 22) one-quarter mile to the stoplight at the intersection with Highway 61. Turn right. Follow Highway 61 to the stoplight at Fairview Boulevard. Turn right onto Fairview Boulevard. The medical center is straight ahead.
From the east: Take US Highway 8 west to the stoplight at its intersection with County Road 22, one mile west of Chisago City. Turn right onto County Road 22/36 and then immediately turn left onto County Road 22. Follow County Road 22 to Wyoming. When you are almost to Highway 61, follow the posted detour to Highway 61 and turn left. Go south one mile to the stoplight at Fairview Boulevard. Turn right onto Fairview Boulevard to go straight to the medical center.
From the west: Take County Road 22 (East Viking Boulevard) east until it crosses over I35 in Wyoming. At the stoplight, turn right onto US Highway 61. Follow Highway 61 one mile to the stoplight at Fairview Boulevard. Turn right to get to the medical center.
From the north or south via Highway 61: Take US Highway 61 to Wyoming. The medical center is located on the south side of Wyoming. At the stoplight at the intersection of Highway 61 and Fairview Boulevard, turn west onto Fairview Boulevard and follow it to the medical center entrance.
Parking: At Fairview Lakes Medical Center, free parking is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Valet Parking: A volunteer parking valet greets patients at the main entrance, and valet parking is offered on various days and times as schedules allow. If you need wheelchair transport once in the building, the valet will get a wheelchair for you. Please bring someone capable of helping you to your appointment. If you are driving and need assistance, the valet will take your keys, park your car, and retrieve it at the end of your visit. This service is free. It is not necessary to tip the valet.
