Indication for VA ECMO
- Inability to wean from cardiopulmonary bypass
- Cardiogenic shock/Acute MI
- Cardiac Arrest
- Acute Rejection
- Bridge to LVAD/Transplant
- Sepsis/Toxicity
- Arrhythmias
- Cardiomyopathy/Myocarditis
- Procedural Support with preplanned end point
General Contraindications
- Prolonged resuscitation
- Irreversible injury/disease process without potential for recovery
- Malignancies
- Major immunosuppression
- Irrecoverable other end-organ failure and/or not a candidate for transplant
