MyChart Bedside
MyChart Bedside is a feature of the free MyChart smartphone app designed to support you during your hospital stay. With MyChart Bedside, you or a loved one can:
- View your care team
- Track test results, medicines, and scheduled procedures in real time
- Order inpatient food (not available in emergency departments)
- View educational information about your health issue
- And more!
If you are currently in the hospital or have an upcoming hospital stay, download the MyChart app for iOS and Android and log in using your regular MyChart username and password. MyChart Bedside features will unlock in the app when you register at one of our hospitals or emergency departments.

Setting Up Proxy Access
If you are a designated caregiver for a person receiving hospital care (for example, a parent or a spouse), you will need proxy access to use MyChart Bedside on the patient's behalf. For directions on establishing proxy access, visit our MyChart Proxy page. Instructions differ depending on the age of the patient.
What’s the Difference Between MyChart and Bedside?
MyChart and MyChart Bedside work together to give you continuous access to your care — whether you’re in the hospital or at home.
When you’re in the hospital, use MyChart Bedside to stay informed and involved in your care. You can view your care team, track test results and medicines, and see your schedule.
When you’re not in the hospital, use MyChart to stay connected. You can review details from your hospital stay, see upcoming clinic appointments, and message your outpatient care team.
After discharge, information shared in MyChart Bedside becomes available through MyChart.

You can access MyChart Bedside through the free MyChart smartphone app. MyChart Bedside features will be available once you have registered at one of our hospitals or emergency departments.
You can access your child, spouse, or loved one’s information in MyChart Bedside if you have been granted proxy access. Visit this page for more information on proxy access.
The Let’s Eat feature in MyChart Bedside allows the patient to order food through their device. Tap or click on the Let’s Eat item to begin the ordering process. Ordering is limited to meal hours listed on your in-room menu. Please note: Some items may not be available for ordering through MyChart Bedside if the patient is on a restricted diet. If you are unsure, you can still call the phone line listed on your menu for help ordering.
The Let’s Eat feature is not available in the emergency department.
Yes, you can use many of MyChart Bedside’s features in the emergency department. For example, you can use the app to view where you are in the treatment process. Some features, like inpatient meal ordering, aren’t available in the emergency department.
No, it is only available via either the MyChart app or the M Health Fairview app.
After leaving the hospital, you will no longer have access to MyChart Bedside in-hospital features, though you will still have access to other MyChart app services. Information from your hospital stay will be stored in your electronic medical record.
MyChart Bedside features will activate within your MyChart app as soon as you are registered at one of our hospitals or emergency departments.
