Partnering with Patients and Families
Our Patient Family Advisor Programs are designed around our commitment to keep the patient at the center of all we do. We invite current patients, family members, and caregivers to become a patient family advisor. In this partnership, you will share your insights and experiences to inform the decision-making process to deliver patient- and family-centered care resulting in improved care experiences.

Ways to Be Involved
Patient-Family Advisors are integrated throughout our healthcare system providing several ways for you to make a difference in the care of others by sharing your experience.

Share your story
Sharing your story serves as a way for you to honor a positive encounter with a team member or department.
Digital Advisor
As a digital advisor, you will provide feedback on a variety of topics through electronic surveys.
Patient-Family Advisor
Patient-Family Advisors are members of advisory councils, committees, or workgroups that meet on a regular cadence and provide feedback on improvement topics.
Characteristics of a Patient-Family Advisor
Being a Patient-Family Advisor is for you if you:
- Are a current M Health Fairview patient or a family member/caregiver of a current M Health Fairview patient
- Have a passion for improving health care experience for all patients and their families beyond your own personal experience
- Are open to new ideas and listening to differing opinions
- Want to be a part of an anti-racist organization that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive
We are committed to having Patient-Family Advisors with a wide range of care and life experiences. We encourage applications from:
- People with disabilities
- People with whose primary language is not English or those with limited English proficiency
- People who are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community
- People who are members of historically marginalized communities
