During the first visit, the psychiatric provider will learn about the individual’s history, symptoms, medical conditions, problems, and strengths.
During follow-up visits, the individual and the provider create a treatment plan together. Psychiatric treatment plans may include psychiatric medication management. The treatment plan and recommendations are shared with the individual’s primary care provider. Once the treatment plan is established the patient’s care can be continued with the primary care provider.
When needed, the Collaborative Care Psychiatry Service is available to the primary care provider for further evaluation and changes to the treatment plan.
Some patients may prefer to receive care in a psychiatry clinic. Our psychiatry clinics include a team of compassionate and dedicated psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, addiction medicine physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and psychotherapists. This team of specialists collaborates with the patient to provide ongoing, individualized care.
