Preventative Care

Schedule Appointment
Preventative care, including regular checkups, health screenings, and vaccines, can help you and your family stay healthy.

Overview

Preventative care, often called preventive care, is an aspect of primary care that focuses on stopping health issues before they happen. It includes routine adult or pediatric care visits, whether they’re called regular wellness visits, yearly physicals, or checkups. Preventative care also includes recommended vaccines and age- or risk factor-based screenings for conditions like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and different types of cancer. For children, preventative care can include screenings for vision, hearing, or developmental delays.

Preventative care can also include counseling and education services around good nutrition, alcohol and substance abuse, and mental health.
