What Chaplains Do:
Chaplains are trained spiritual care providers who support people of all faiths, spiritual backgrounds, and life philosophies. We offer:
- Emotional and spiritual support during times of uncertainty, fear, or loss.
- Prayer, blessings, and rituals tailored to your beliefs and preferences.
- Help with meaning-making and reflection, especially during major life transitions.
- Support for families and loved ones, including during end-of-life care.
- Communication with community faith leaders when requested.
You do not need to be spiritual or religious to speak with a chaplain. We are here for everyone - whether you want someone to listen to your story, pray with you, or sit quietly by your side.
In addition to bedside support, we offer dedicated Spiritual Spaces at each of our hospitals – quiet rooms for reflection, prayer, and meditation. These spaces are open to all, regardless of background or belief. To learn more about the spaces available at each location, visit our Spiritual Spaces page.
Spiritual Spaces: Intentional Places of Respite and Reflection
In the midst of medical care, moments of stillness can be deeply healing. Across our hospitals, we offer a variety of Spiritual Spaces – rooms designed to support reflection, prayer, and meditation for people of all backgrounds and beliefs.
Whether you are seeking a quiet place to breathe, a sacred space to pray, or simply a moment of calm, these rooms are open to you. Some are called chapels, others meditation rooms or sanctuaries. Each one is unique, but all are intended to be inclusive, respectful, and welcoming – no matter your faith tradition, spiritual path, or personal practice.
We invite patients, families, and staff to use these spaces in whatever way brings comfort and meaning.
