Anchored by M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital, a nationally recognized children’s hospital located on a leading academic hospital campus in Minneapolis, our dedicated pediatric neurosurgeons are national and international leaders. We combine comprehensive services, advanced medical technology, and compassionate care in a team approach with your child and your family at its center.
Our approach
When your child needs surgery of the brain or spine, our neurosurgeons will partner with other doctors and members of your child’s care team to discuss options with you before creating a surgical treatment plan tailored to your child’s individual needs. Once a plan is in place, they will help you prepare for the surgery and guide every step of the process, including providing supportive care and guidance throughout the recovery phase.
Our neurosurgeons are often part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors and other care providers from a variety of areas. Depending on your child’s diagnosis, that team may include neurologists, neuro-oncologists, nurses, care coordinators, child life specialists, social workers, mental health providers, nutritionists, spiritual support, and integrative care specialists. They work together seamlessly to ensure that each child and family receives comprehensive care molded to their personal journey.
We use advanced technologies during surgery, such as state-of-the-art MRI imaging, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, laser thermal ablation, and image-guided intracranial endoscopy. We also have access to new and emerging technologies, including blood brain barrier disruption and immunotherapy (vaccines) for malignant brain tumors.
M Health Fairview Pediatrics is the only children’s health system in Minnesota that has an extensive partnership with the University of Minnesota Medical School and Masonic Cancer Center, which means our patients have access to leading-edge clinical trials and medical breakthroughs in devices, techniques, and technologies before they’re widely available. By offering novel interventions and opportunities for advanced therapies, we ensure the best possible outcomes for our young patients and their families.
