We help youth learn to control use urges, impulses, manage behavior, express feelings safely, reduce anxiety, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, improve social skills, develop new coping strategies, facilitate effective communication, support families in healing, and build self-esteem.
Psychotherapy
The program utilizes both individual and group psychotherapy. Group therapy offers those involved a way of connecting with others who may share similar struggles; this experience validates and gives a sense of connection while honoring the individual differences each participant brings. Group therapy will focus on skill building, stress management, and allows for the open processing of struggles.
Individual therapy allows people to focus on what is unique to their history and social context. Youth address personal and private concerns during their individual psychotherapy time.
Family Therapy
Emotional, behavioral, and substance related struggles affect all members of the family. We expect families to participate in the treatment process and support the changes youth are making. At the same time, the parent(s)/guardian(s) are learning effective parenting skills unique to their child’s needs. Sessions are offered weekly.
School
Academic education is provided on-site through the local school district. This is an opportunity for youth to work on academic goals in a small and supportive environment.
