Do You Qualify For Weight Loss Surgery?
Weight-loss surgery is for people who are unable to maintain a healthy weight through diet and exercise alone. As accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) centers, we follow the MBSAQIP guidelines for obesity surgery. To qualify, you must have:

  • A body mass index (BMI) of 40 or greater
  • A BMI of 35 in addition to diseases associated with obesity, such as type 2 diabetes (T2DM), hypertension, sleep apnea and other respiratory disorders, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, osteoarthritis, lipid abnormalities, gastrointestinal disorders, or heart disease.
  • Inability to lose weight with diet and exercise

Insurance coverage for this surgery varies. Your insurance provider may have other criteria if they do cover weight loss surgery. Please contact your insurance provider for more information on your specific plan.
