We help children learn to control impulses, manage behavior, focus attention, encourage the safe expression of feelings, reduce anxiety, improve reality orientation, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, improve social skills, develop new coping strategies, and build self-esteem.
Our program uses evidence-based interventions to support unique goals of each child and family. Therapy approaches include: Art Therapy, and Group Therapy using Cognitive Behavior techniques. When each child is ready to graduate, we offer a referral to next level of care.
Day treatment is designed to serve patients that:
- Have a mental health disorder diagnosis and a serious impairment or decrease in function
- Have been unsuccessful in less intensive outpatient services
- Are not an imminent danger to self or others
- Do not require 24-hour supervision
- Have the potential to improve their level of function through behavioral, supportive and therapeutic interventions
- Are able to tolerate a group therapy setting
Art Therapy
Creativity using art allows people to know themselves and what they need from others. The use of art media, creative process, and the subsequent product enhance the patient's physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Psychotherapy
Group therapy helps people know they are not alone with their struggles. They learn they are unique and understood. Group lets them learn how to manage stressors and build coping skills by harnessing empathy and learning from others who have similar experiences.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
As an alternative to inpatient care with patients living at home. PHP provides five hours of therapy per day, 3 visits per week with medical providers and two hours of school per day.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Patients live at home and visit our treatment site for three hours of therapy plus two hours of school per day. Clients have contact with medical providers one time per week.
Family Therapy
Emotional and/or behavioral problems affect all members of the family. We expect families to participate in the treatment process so that they can better understand the reasons behind the child’s behavior and learn parenting skills unique to their child’s needs. Sessions are offered weekly.
