Coronary Angioplasty and Stents (PCI)

Coronary angioplasty and stent placement is also known as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). If you are experiencing symptoms related to Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), e.g., chest pain/tightness/pressure, shortness of breath, sweating at rest, nausea, etc., your cardiologist may suggest a coronary angiogram to look at the heart’s blood vessels. If a blood vessel is narrowed or blocked, coronary angioplasty and stent placement will help to restore blood flow and improve symptoms.
