People with diabetes and related conditions are better able to control their symptoms and reduce the impact of these conditions with increased physical activity.
Our Get Moving program can provide you with the tools, resources, and encouragement needed to help you safely incorporate activity into your life.
Our approach
The Get Moving Program is tailored to people with musculoskeletal (MSK) condition(s) who are also struggling with weight loss, to include pre-diabetic/diabetic and/or pre/post bariatric surgery, who have goals around increasing activity levels to promote better all-around health.
This program is intended for patients who are ambulatory (use of a cane or walker, at most). Patients must be able to move around independently.
Common Get Moving Patient Conditions
Hip, knee, foot, and ankle (Osteoarthritis)
Low back pain (acute and chronic)
Any MSK issues impeding exercise
Muscle weakness
Poor endurance
Balance concerns/fall risk due to a musculoskeletal issue
Physical Deconditioning
Our physical therapists will address any musculoskeletal impairments impeding exercise and then help transition the patient into a well-rounded activity program.
