Currently, our program is able to utilize the most advanced and up-to-date technologies, when needed, to care for our lung transplant candidates and recipients.  These include: 1) use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (similar to a “heart-lung” machine) to support patients before, during, and after transplant surgery; 2) use of ex-vivo lung perfusion to support, assess, and improve the function of donor lungs while they are being prepared for transplantation; and 3) use of state-of-the-art technologies to help patients who are having problems with healing of their airways (breathing tubes) after transplant.

Our Pulmonary Medicine providers diagnose, treat, and provide follow-up services for patients with a broad spectrum of lung diseases. We have special teams dedicated to cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension.

Our Pulmonary and Lung Surgery program is consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as “high performing”, and we are known for our expertise and compassionate care.
