Integrative Approaches for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention
Primary Prevention:
Early stages of heart and vascular disease (cardiovascular disease) can be detected long before symptoms appear. Early detection allows our expert health care providers to prescribe steps to prevent advanced heart disease later in life.
Secondary Prevention:
If you have had a heart attack, an intervention for coronary artery disease (balloon angioplasty. stent, CABG), stroke, peripheral artery disease, vascular surgery, or vascular procedure with balloon or stent. Our goal is to prevent any more events from happening and to help you live a full and happy life.
Tertiary Prevention:
After heart transplant or any other organ transplant.
Consider making an appointment with a preventive cardiologist if either of the following describes you:
- You are an adult who has risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Risk factors include cholesterol elevations, diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated weight, inactive living, and history of tobacco use.
- You don’t have traditional risk factors but have a strong family history of cardiovascular disease, which may mean you have a higher of risk of cardiovascular disease.
