In some cases, the appropriate course of treatment may include surgical options, such as:
- Open radical prostatectomy. This is a traditional surgical approach, with the prostate removed via a large incision in the abdomen.
- Laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. This is a less-invasive approach, using small incisions and a camera to guide the surgery.
- Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy. This method is similar to the laparoscopic prostatectomy, but with a robot system assisting for more precision.
