Video Visits
Video visits are a convenient way to see your provider without leaving the comfort of your home. Video visits are completed securely through your mobile device or computer and are a safe and easy alternative for you to consult with your provider or care team.

There are two ways that you can access your medical records online without using an authorisation form.

Hardware Requirements
To complete a video visit, you will need a computer or mobile device with a camera, microphone and speaker.
For mobile devices, an internet connection is better than using cellular data. For computers, a wired (ethernet) connection is better than using Wi-Fi.

Join with MyChart (computer or mobile)
Log in to MyChart
- Complete the eCheck-In process prior to your video visit.
- Once the eCheck-In process is complete, click Join video visit.
- Update your preferred name and mobile number.
- Check the box to acknowledge the Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Click Next. You will then be prompted to complete the pre-visit technology check.
• Select Allow if you are prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone.
Join with Email or Text invite (computer or mobile)
Click the link in your Email or Text invite.
- Update your preferred name and mobile number.
- Check the box to acknowledge the Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Click Next. You will then be prompted to complete the pre-visit technology check.
• Select Allow if you are prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone.

Video Visit Troubleshooting
- Confirm you’re connected to the internet or cellular data. For mobile devices, an internet connection is better than using cellular data. For computers, a wired (ethernet) connection is better than using Wi-Fi.
- Confirm the operating system (OS) and web browser on your computer or mobile device are supported with each another and up to date. Review the technical requirements under the Prepare for Your Video Visit section for more details.
- Close other websites or applications running on your device (Zoom, WebEx, Instagram, etc.)
- Clear your web browser history; Refresh your web browser.
- Restart your device.

Desktop Instructions:
- Log in to MyChart
- Select the Menu option in the top left corner of the page
- Scroll down to Account Settings and select Communication Preferences. You can also search for it in the search bar.
- Within communication preferences, you can change what you are contacted about (opt in is an orange symbol, opt out is an outlined symbol), how you are contacted (email, text, and/or mail), and in some cases, when you are contacted. After making any changes, click the blue save changes button.
- You can also update your contact information within communication preferences. When editing your communication preferences, you may also change your preferred phone number by selecting the star next to the desired number.
Mobile Instructions:
- Open the M Health Fairview app on your mobile device.
- Log in using your M Health Fairview MyChart account.
- Click the more button and then the gear icon in the upper right hand corner.
- Select down to Account Settings and select Communication Preferences.
- This will open the communication preferences. Make updates and select Save Changes.
Desktop Instructions:
- Log in to MyChart
- Select the Visits tab on the top of the page.
- Scroll down to Past Visits and find your desired visit. Select View After Visit Summary. You will now be taken to a printable PDF of your AVS.
Mobile Instructions:
- Open the M Health Fairview app on your mobile device.
- Log in using your M Health Fairview MyChart account.
- Click the Visits button on the home page.
- Scroll down to Past Visits and find your desired visit. Select View After Visit Summary. You will now be taken to a PDF of your AVS.
